Rosalyn Worthen
Welcome— My name is Rosalyn Worthen, PMHNP‑BC, and I’m a board‑certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than two decades of clinical experience across hospitals, outpatient programs, corrections, memory care, and assisted‑living communities, I learned early in my career that true healing goes far beyond physical care. I was consistently drawn to the emotional and psychological struggles people carried—fear, grief, trauma, and the quiet battles that often go unseen. Over time, I realized that what people needed most was someone who listened, someone who understood, and someone who could help them make sense of their pain. That understanding is what led me to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Psychiatry allows me to combine my clinical foundation with the deeper work of helping individuals find stability, clarity, and hope. Through Worthy Health Solutions, I provide compassionate, evidence‑based telehealth care that makes mental health support accessible and personalized. What keeps me in this profession is the privilege of walking alongside people during their most vulnerable moments. I believe in whole‑person wellness, meeting people where they are, and creating a safe space for healing and growth. This work is more than my career—it is my calling.
First session
During your first session, I take time to get to know you and understand what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask about your current concerns, symptoms, and history so I can get a clear picture of your needs and goals. We’ll also talk about what you hope to gain from treatment and begin creating a plan that feels realistic and supportive for you. If appropriate, we may discuss medication options along with practical strategies to help you start feeling better. My goal is to create a calm, judgment‐free space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out—showing up is already a powerful first step.
Strengths
At Worthy Health Solutions, I bring a balanced blend of clinical expertise and genuine human connection. My approach is comprehensive, trauma-sensitive, and rooted in evidence-based psychiatric care. I take time to understand each client’s unique story, identify the root of their symptoms, and collaborate on a treatment plan that aligns with their goals and values. My approach stands out because it is both clinically thorough and deeply human. I don’t rush people. I don’t treat them like a checklist. I meet them where they are—with empathy, curiosity, and respect. I believe people deserve to feel seen, heard, and understood. That belief shapes every session. What makes my care different is the combination of: - Extensive clinical experience across multiple settings and populations - A trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive lens - Clear, collaborative communication - A calm, grounding presence - A commitment to whole‑person wellness - A genuine passion for helping people reclaim stability and confidence Clients often tell me they appreciate how I explain things, how I listen, and how I help them feel safe enough to open up. They feel supported, not judged. They feel guided, not pressured. And they feel like they finally have someone who understands both the medical and emotional sides of their mental health. My goal is simple: to help people feel worthy of healing, capable of change, and supported every step of the way.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to move forward. They may be navigating mood changes, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, sleep issues, or stress that’s starting to affect their daily life. They’re often high‑functioning on the outside but struggling internally, wanting clarity, stability, and a provider who truly listens. They come in with a willingness to explore what’s happening beneath the surface and are open to learning new skills, trying evidence‑based strategies, and working collaboratively toward meaningful change. Their goal is to feel more balanced, more in control, and more confident as they move through life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice at Worthy Health Solutions, I use CBT by helping clients notice the patterns between what they think, how they feel, and how they respond. Many people dealing with mood changes, anxiety, or stress find themselves stuck in cycles that feel automatic. Together, we slow things down and look at what’s happening beneath the surface. I guide clients in spotting thoughts that make their symptoms worse—like assuming the worst, being overly hard on themselves, or feeling responsible for things outside their control. Once we identify these patterns, we work on replacing them with more balanced, realistic ways of thinking that support emotional stability. I also help clients practice simple, practical skills they can use in daily life—such as grounding techniques, reframing stressful thoughts, or choosing behaviors that support their mood instead of intensifying it. These tools are easy to understand, easy to use, and tailored to each person’s needs. My goal is to help clients feel more in control, more confident, and more steady as they move through their healing. CBT fits naturally into my supportive, patient‑centered approach and gives clients clear steps they can take to feel better.
Motivational Interviewing
In my practice at Worthy Health Solutions, I use Motivational Interviewing by helping clients explore what they want for themselves and what feels hard about getting there. Many people dealing with mood changes, anxiety, or substance‑use concerns feel stuck between wanting things to improve and feeling unsure how to start. MI gives us a calm, supportive way to talk through that. During sessions, I ask open, thoughtful questions that help you reflect on your goals, your strengths, and what matters most to you. Instead of telling you what to do, I guide you in discovering your own reasons for change. We look at what’s working, what isn’t, and what small steps feel realistic for you right now. I also help you notice moments of progress, even when they feel small. MI is about building confidence, reducing pressure, and helping you move forward at a pace that feels safe and manageable. It fits naturally into my patient‑centered approach and supports clients in making meaningful, lasting changes.
Biofeedback
In my practice at Worthy Health Solutions, I use biofeedback to help clients understand how their body reacts to stress, mood changes, and anxiety. During sessions, I guide clients in paying attention to simple physical signals—like breathing, heart rate, or muscle tension—and we practice techniques that help calm those reactions. Biofeedback gives clients a clearer picture of what’s happening inside their body and teaches them how to regain control when they feel overwhelmed. I use easy, practical exercises such as slow breathing, grounding, and relaxation skills to help clients feel more steady and balanced. Over time, clients learn how to recognize early signs of tension and use these tools to prevent symptoms from escalating. This method is especially helpful for clients dealing with mood disorders, anxiety, sleep problems, or chronic stress. It fits naturally into my supportive, patient‑centered approach and empowers clients to feel more in control of their emotional and physical well‑being.
