Welcome! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters from Midwestern State University and have been practicing for 7 years in various settings. I help individuals who are transitioning to their next step in life. I help people who feel stuck; recognizing they are tired, stressed, overwhelmed, or overstimulated, but ready to make a change.
Therapy is an interpersonal relationship and I want clients, first and foremost, to feel comfortable talking with me. The first sessions focus on getting to know where you are in your journey and how you would like my help in reaching your next step.
I work to provide a nonjudgmental, nurturing space. I truly care for the individuals I work with and want to help them achieve whatever their better is.
I love working with individuals diving into new areas of life: starting college, launching a career, navigating parenthood. I strive to help individuals grow into their most authentic selves. I truly believe everyone possesses the elements within to live a more fulfilling life, and I am here to help nurture and guide them to reach their goals.
I always work through the lens of solution focused treatment. People are seeking treatment to find better for themselves, so I focus on solutions. What do you want your life to look like a week, a month, a year from now? And how do we get you to that point, utilizing the resources you have within?
ACT works using mindfulness strategies (breathing techniques, slow noticing) as coping skills to manage stressors. Using ACT, we identify your values and how to line up your actions to match your values, even when your thoughts are going different directions.
With CBT, we use mindfulness strategies (breathing techniques, etc.) as well as examine problematic thinking. We look at where difficult thoughts come from and how we can develop better ways of thinking to alleviate anxiety and mood struggles.
