Licensed to practice in Florida and accepts 45 insurances. Specializes in Anxiety, Insomnia/Sleep Issues, Family Conflict and 3 more.
Trained as a psychologist (Ph.D. from Cornell University). Some 20 years later I earned a second graduate degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am a fully licensed therapist in the State of Florida. I have taught psychology at Princeton, Tulane, Cornell, and Harvard Medical School. We will spend most of our time creating solutions, instead of analyzing problems. So often, therapy gets bogged down in the endless exploration of problems. Problems are the results of behaviors that didn't work for you in the past. Solutions flow from changes that will work for you starting right now. Solutions make your life better. They bring joy and peace to your life.
I'll be very curious to hear your very best hopes for therapy. Set a high bar!
I help very many couples, married or not, straight or other, from many cultures. I can help with most any couples problem, as long as both partners are sure they want to stay together. No divorce or separation counseling. I treat individuals for a wide array of problems, including anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, irrational fears, and more.
I help couples to better communicate and resolve conflict. I help individuals aged 18 and older with a wide array of challenges, including all forms of anxiety.

Dr Ransen is like an old wise man that listens carefully to your challenges and then offers pragmatic solutions that you would probably not find on your own. He doesn't spend alot of time on psychological babble, though I'm sure he could if he thought it would help.

I liked his style. He was straightforward and took copious notes. He asked relevant questions. My situation is very complex. He asked pertinent questions.

Working with Dr. Ransen has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our marriage. He’s thoughtful, insightful, and incredibly skilled at helping both people feel heard without taking sides. We always leave sessions feeling more connected, more capable, and better equipped to communicate with each other. Highly recommended.
