New to Grow
With over 25 years of experience in the social work field, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings a depth of knowledge, compassion, and practical expertise to every client relationship. My diverse background spans school social work, special education support (including 504 Plans and IEPs), vocational services for adults with disabilities, and extensive experience in foster care and adoption. I have been married for 25 years and have 4 teen/young adult children. I specialize in supporting individuals and families navigating complex life challenges, including parenting, raising children with disabilities, and understanding autism spectrum disorder. My approach is both empathetic and results-driven, helping clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop effective coping strategies. I use evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and tailor treatment to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I am committed to empowering clients to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. I have a warm, collaborative style and plenty of real-world insight. I provide a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and equipped to move forward with confidence.
In the first session, I'll invite you to share with me your reasons for seeking therapy and the changes you'd like to experience in your life. I'll ask you to share some relevant background information and together we'll work on building goals to move you forward in the direction you want to go. I know it takes courage to get started on the journey towards change so I'll cheer you on from the very first session.
When you look for a therapist, you want someone who will guide you with wisdom towards healthy living. Experience has been my greatest teacher. I bring both 25 years of professional social work experience and 47 years of life experience into each session. I have been married for 25 years. I was a foster parent for 8 years and fostered over 20 children in my home. My husband and I adopted one child and have a total of 4 children who are currently teenagers and young adults. Both professionally and in my family, I have supported children/teenagers/young adults with Autism, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, and depression as well as LGBTQ+ young people. I am also a Christian and have been for my entire life. I will support your faith beliefs and work with you to incorporate your faith into your change/growth process. I will be a safe place for you to heal, learn, grow, love, and find success!
I enjoy supporting individuals and families navigating complex life challenges, including parenting, raising children with disabilities, foster care & adoption, and understanding challenges like autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I work best with clients who are motivated to make changes in their lives in order to see the results that they are looking for. Clients who are interested in incorporating their Christian faith into their growth work will find that I am welcoming and supportive of their beliefs.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on how a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors work together to create outcomes and patterns in our lives. We'll work together to identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thinking, and ultimately achieve the change that you are seeking in your life.
Christian Counseling
Christian Counseling acknowledges that a person's mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing are interconnected. Christian Counseling integrates a person's faith with the change process and emphasizes the meaning and purpose found in a healthy relationship with God.
Couples Counseling
In Couples Counseling, the relationship is the client rather than focusing on just one individual. Relationship goals that can be addressed include improving communication, resolving conflict, strengthening connection, and addressing any specific issues.
