New to Grow
I’m Priscilla, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping people feel understood and supported as they work through life’s challenges. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, personality-related patterns, and relationship stress. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build healthier coping skills, and move toward lasting emotional healing and growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During the first session, I focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where clients can begin to feel comfortable sharing their experiences. We review important information about therapy, including confidentiality and expectations, while also exploring what has brought the client to seek support. I take time to understand the client’s background, current challenges, and the ways these concerns may be impacting their daily life, relationships, or emotional well-being. Together, we begin identifying goals for therapy and discuss how we can work collaboratively to support meaningful growth and positive change.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What makes my approach unique is that I understand the therapy process from both perspectives—as a clinician and as someone who has personally experienced therapy. As a teen, therapy played an important role in helping me work through past trauma and shaped my belief in the power of healing and personal growth. Because of this experience, I approach my work with deep empathy, authenticity, and an understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help. My goal is to create a space where clients feel truly understood, supported, and empowered in their journey toward healing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who is motivated to better understand themselves and is willing to actively work toward meaningful personal goals. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related challenges, or personality-related patterns that impact their relationships, emotions, or daily functioning. While they may feel stuck or overwhelmed at times, they are open to learning new skills, reflecting on their experiences, and making intentional changes in their lives. In therapy, we work collaboratively to identify goals, build practical coping strategies, and develop healthier patterns that support emotional stability, stronger relationships, and long-term personal growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. Through CBT, clients learn practical tools to reframe negative thinking, build healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their daily lives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better manage overwhelming emotions and navigate difficult situations. Through DBT skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation, clients learn practical tools to respond to challenges in healthier and more balanced ways.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
My approach includes Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps clients identify, process, and transform difficult emotions to support healing and meaningful change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths and focus on practical solutions to current challenges. This approach emphasizes building on what is already working and helping clients move toward their goals in a clear and achievable way.
