New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I work with individual and couples seeking support through life’s challenges and transition. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and goal oriented, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Brief Therapy. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build on their strengths, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.
In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions about your current concerns, your background and what you would like to achieve in therapy. I’ll explain confidentially and its limitations and answer any questions you have about how therapy works.
As a Dominican immigrant who came to this country as a young teenager, I’ve faced and overcome many personal and cultural challenges. Those experiences have given me a deep sense of empathy and understanding. I’m able to relate to my clients on a real level, which helps build trust and makes me more effective in the helping process.
Other specialties
I identify as
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I used this approach to help people identify they are in control of their life outcomes, and they can chance issues they are dealing with. Patients have the resources internally to change situations they desire to change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I used this approach to show patients who they thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. Patients are able to identify distorted thoughts and modify their behaviors to develop healthier coping mechanisms.
