Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in the mental health field. I received my Master's from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have spent my career helping individuals and families with trauma, child abuse, substance abuse, and domestic violence, but you are the expert on your own life. I offer individual therapy via telehealth for individuals in Illinois and Maryland. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

First session

I work with clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I utilize Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify triggers, learn your warning signs, and then utilize coping skills. My goal is to help improve your self-esteem and change unwanted behaviors.

Ideal clients

I love working with individuals who are new to therapy and are looking how to take their first steps towards improvement. My clients are often feeling like their life is in turmoil from depression, addiction, and/or past traumas. They are experiencing challenges because of past incidents and have fear of dark future if they don't receive help now.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am trained and certified in CBT+. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to help you identify triggers, learn your warning signs, and then utilize coping skills.

Motivational Interviewing

I am trained and experienced in Motivational Interviewing. This is used to help identify your status in Readiness to Change and work through the barriers you are currently facing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is beneficial for those suffering from emotion disregulation. We use mindfulness skills to build tolerance and acceptance of situation with a goal of having healthy relationships and a life worth living.

Josh was very nice and patient and was listening to everything I had to say, which made it easier to talk to him. I think this will be a great fit for me.
