Hi! I am a LISW/LCSW based out of Iowa but also licensed in Illinois and Nebraska. I received my Master's degree from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) I have worked in the field for over 35 years and consider it a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey. I strive to provide a compassionate and accepting environment where you will feel safe and understood.
In our first session together, we will go over brief introductions, current concerns, goals for therapy, and ways we can work to achieve those goals together.
I am experienced with working with a diverse group of individuals and am a caring and empathic listener who will help you to identify your own strengths, empower you to see the problems in your life in a different way, and achieve the goals you set.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
My counseling style is eclectic. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, supportive, strength-based and interpersonal therapies.
