I use play, mindfulness, emotionally-focused, and Attachment and Commitment in my practice. I am a strong believer that one of the only ways to come back from overwhelm is to do nothing, and the best way to do nothing is to play. I completed my internship in 2020 with the organization Child Abuse Prevention Association providing trauma informed care to adults and children via telehealth. After graduation I was a school based therapist working primarily with elementary children and their families. In that time I developed a specialty with neurodivergence. I have spent the last year working with neurodivergent children, teens, and adults here in Washington.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session we will discuss what brings you into therapy at this time. Depending on this we may need to go through some assessments during the first session. I try to be very transparent about what will be going into your chart during this session. We will also discuss your goals for our time together and what you want to get out of therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As someone who is neurodivergent themselves I find that I am uniquely able to understand and help my clients grow. I am open and honest in my approach and will collaborate with you to help you meet goals that you set. I strive to be as affirming and non-judgmental as I can in my practice. I try to bring both humor and creativity to my sessions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is ready to grow and start working towards healthier communication styles. Their concerns might involve frequent dysregulation, negative self-talk, difficulties with communication or discerning emotions. They might come to me for help with overwhelming emotions. Families might seek my help for the same reasons or frequent conflict. I can also help with processing traumatic experiences, identifying values, and becoming future focused.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have found that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is very helpful for clients who are ready to move forwarded in their healing and building self-compassion. We will use ACT to explore your thoughts/feelings with out judgement and decide on a path that is right for you.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I have been using Emotionally Focused therapy as part of my individual and family work so that I can help clients explore where their feelings come from and help them form healthy attachments now. Together we will identify patterns of feelings and actions to help you have more connection.

Play Therapy

I use play therapy in many of my in-person and virtual sessions, especially for clients that struggle to give voice to what they are feeling. I also use play to help build your ability to manage frustration, recognize how sensations relate to feelings, and manage overwhelm.
