The first session is referred to as an "Intake." This is designed to gather the necessary information to best support you with therapy. Ongoing therapy sessions are designed to provide you with the tools, coping skills, and strategies to help reduce your presenting symptoms and allow you to function in the world in a way that is right for you.
My approach is based on what you bring into the session. I am trained in a variety of clinical modalities, including evidence-based: Here are some examples... My theoretical training includes Humanistic, Existential, Experiential, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Humanistic/Client-Centered, Holistic/Integrative, Systemic, Behavioral, Narrative, and Mindfulness.
