I'm Brittany McBryde Williams, LMHC, RPT™, and Qualified Supervisor in Ocala. I specialize in neurodiversity-affirming therapy with autistic and ADHD clients—children, adolescents, and adults—particularly those navigating trauma, masking, and the search for belonging. I'm a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at The Chicago School, and I bring that scholarly perspective into clinical work. My approach is rooted in Adlerian play therapy and trauma-informed care, which means I meet you where you are without asking you to adapt to frameworks designed for neurotypical brains. I'm certified in autism, ADHD, and trauma treatment—but more importantly, I'm committed to creating a space where neurodivergent people can be exactly who they are and still find their way forward.
In the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they will have the opportunity to discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, share their concerns, and begin to establish a therapeutic relationship with you. I take the time to gather information about their background, current challenges, and goals for therapy, as well as discuss confidentiality, the counseling process, and your approach to treatment. Additionally, we will explore their expectations for therapy, address any questions or hesitations they may have, and collaboratively establish a plan for moving forward in their therapeutic journey. Overall, clients can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space where they can begin to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and confidential setting.
I bring a future-focused perspective to therapy. Rather than staying stuck in what went wrong, we look at where you want to go and what it takes to get there. This shift is powerful—it moves you from feeling defined by your struggles to recognizing your agency and capacity for change. I'm also deeply attuned to individual differences. As a neurodivergent therapist working with neurodivergent clients, I don't ask you to adapt to standard frameworks. Instead, I meet you where you are—honoring how your brain works, what you actually need, and what meaningful change looks like for you, not some generic ideal. My Adlerian foundation means I focus on what matters most: belonging, significance, and contribution. These aren't abstract concepts in my sessions—they're the scaffolding we build together so you can feel genuinely connected to yourself and your life. I also bring flexibility across modalities. Whether we're using play therapy, EMDR, reflective conversation, or talk therapy, the approach shifts based on what serves you best. And I'm transparent about the process—you're never wondering what's happening or why. We collaborate every step of the way. Finally, I hold hope without minimizing struggle. I know change is possible because I've witnessed it countless times—and because I've lived it myself. That authenticity matters.
Children: Kids struggling with low self-esteem, behavioral challenges, trauma, unidentified neurodivergence, or social difficulties who can benefit from play therapy. Through play, we explore thoughts and feelings together, uncover beliefs driving discouragement, and build healthier ways of thinking and coping. Adults: Those processing trauma, anxiety, depression, or the chronic effects of masking neurodivergence. I use EMDR and Adlerian approaches to help you reframe limiting beliefs, process difficult experiences, and move toward growth. Parents: Caregivers seeking support understanding their child's behavior and emotions, wanting more peace at home, or looking to strengthen their parenting. We work together to enhance your skills, improve communication, and create a more supportive family environment. I work with all three to address family dynamics and create lasting change.

I take a collaborative approach, working with you to identify your unique strengths, challenges, and goals. I draw on Adlerian principles to help you gain insight into beliefs and patterns driving struggle, and to build resilience, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose as you navigate life's challenges.
As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I use EMDR to help you process and heal from difficult experiences. I take time to prepare you for the process, guide you through it safely, and help you integrate insights into your daily life. EMDR is particularly effective for trauma, anxiety, and past experiences keeping you stuck.
As a Play Therapist, I use play as a language to help children express themselves, process emotions, and navigate challenges. Play therapy creates safety and builds confidence while helping kids gain insight into their experiences. I integrate parents as essential partners in the therapeutic process. This may look like parents observing or participating in play sessions, or separate parent consultations where you have a dedicated space to explore your child's needs, your parenting concerns, and family dynamics without the child present. Both approaches are vital to creating lasting change.

Brittany is very open and accepting of all of my issues, even the complicated and ugly. She is very good at helping me circle back to the issue at hand, especially after I veer off on a tangent unrelated to the topic. She makes me feel seen, heard, and accepted.

I love the level of acceptance and comfort I receive with her as my therapist. I feel recentered after each session, which helps me to remain goal oriented and not slip into negative thinking, which I find of great benefit to myself. I often times feel as though I'm just communicating with a friend who shares similar perspective and authentically seeks to encourage me. The Adlerian approach works for me, Brittany works for me. She's great.
