Hello, my name is Ray Carrier and I’m independently licensed as a therapist. I have assisted several clients having challenges with anxiety, depression, addiction, and a variety of other challenges. I have assisted plenty clients with stress and other challenges that hasn’t involved mental health too. I believe that’s important to mention, because I believe that counseling/therapy is helpful and effective for various reasons that are mental health and not mental health related. I look forward to meeting and working with you wherever you are and assisting you with your journey relating to your needs and goals. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a variety of things from me. First and foremost, clients can expect to have a therapist who actively listens to and hears them. Clients can also expect me to be and remain objective with them regardless of challenges, needs, and goals. Clients can expect to learn a great deal of information about their challenges, clients being highly informed is important. Clients can expect me to be non-judgmental at all times and feel comfortable in talking with me about anything. If I can’t do this as a therapist, I truly don’t believe I can be a therapist. One other thing that clients can expect of me is to be with or meet them where they are in terms of comfort. I am not about making anyone uncomfortable and will work with clients wherever they are in their journeys.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I believe that my treatment methods are eclectic and can vary based on needs, challenges, goals, and more of clients. I do not use a one size fits all approach with anyone, even with similar challenges due to the uniqueness of clients individually. With saying that, approaches that I have utilized have involved mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, person-centered/humanistic, motivational interviewing/enhancement, solution-focused, reality therapy/choice theory, and trauma informed care. My approaches may be blended, mainly one, or in other ways depending on the needs, challenges, and goals that clients have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience as a therapist has been broad and I’ve assisted several clients with a multiplicity of challenges. However, as far as my strengths are concerned, I believe that my strengths involve challenges with general anxiety, social anxiety, depression, addiction, various process challenges (gaming, internet, gambling, etc.), conflict resolution, identity challenges, relationship challenges, dual diagnosis, and stress management.
