About me

With over 20 years of combined national and international experience in psychology, mental health counseling, and neuroscience, I help individuals better understand the patterns underlying their anxiety and develop practical strategies for lasting change. Having worked across Nicaragua, Guatemala, Brazil, and the United States in community mental health agencies, foster care systems, faith-based initiatives, and humanitarian outreach, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds facing a wide range of life challenges. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how adversity, relationships, trauma, culture, and life transitions shape emotional well-being and influence the way anxiety is experienced. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. I am certified in Neuropsychotherapy (NPT-C), trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. If anxiety has been affecting your daily life, relationships, work, or overall well-being, we will take time to understand how it is showing up for you personally. Together, we will explore how your lived experiences may be influencing your current challenges, including anxiety, stress, or patterns that feel difficult to change. You can expect a collaborative and supportive conversation focused on understanding your unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals. Through this process, we will begin building greater awareness of the factors shaping your emotional well-being while creating a personalized roadmap for treatment. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The combination of my clinical training, certifications, and doctoral studies provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the relationship between the brain, lived experience, and emotional well-being. My pursuit of advanced education has been driven not only by professional development, but also by a deep personal commitment to understanding the processes of healing, resilience, and human growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The individuals who tend to benefit most from my approach are thoughtful, curious, and highly intentional about their personal growth. They are not simply looking for symptom relief—they want to understand the deeper patterns that shape their emotions, relationships, and responses to life’s challenges. Whether navigating anxiety, (past) trauma, major life transitions, or the lasting effects of difficult experiences, they value insight as much as practical change and are committed to meaningful, lasting transformation. My practice is designed for discerning adults who appreciate both clinical excellence and compassionate care. I integrate evidence-based psychotherapy with contemporary research in psychology, neuroscience, and trauma, providing treatment that is both scientifically grounded and deeply human. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I work collaboratively with each client to understand the unique biological, psychological, relational, and personal factors influencing their well-being. For those who desire it, I also thoughtfully incorporate Christian faith into the therapeutic process, recognizing the role that spirituality can play in healing, resilience, and personal growth. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels both safe and intellectually engaging—a place where clients can explore difficult experiences with honesty while developing practical skills for lasting change. My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in genuine curiosity about each person’s story. Clients who resonate with my approach often value depth, reflection, and intentionality. They seek more than temporary coping strategies; they desire a coherent understanding of themselves, healthier relationships, greater emotional resilience, and a life lived with purpose, authenticity, and hope.
