Hello! I'm glad you're here. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas with over 10 years of clinical experience. I have a wide range of experience working with adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. I specialize in helping women struggling with self-esteem, life transitions, family and marital stress, and navigating relationships with others and yourself. I help you identify stagnant points in your life, and get to the root of them, so you can begin showing up and living a more authentic and fulfilled life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will begin with a brief introduction, and a focus on gathering background information, as well as the primary reason for your visit. Throughout the therapy process, there will be a beginning, middle and end. I begin our time together with keeping the end in mind. I consider where you today and where you would like to be in the future. I like to begin discussing goals and objectives fairly early on. Sometimes it can be difficult to identify and establish goals, and that's okay. We'll collaborate to begin developing a roadmap, and I can certainly help if you're feeling stuck. Having a plan and direction aids in future sessions and ultimately helps you get the most out of our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experience working with diverse populations for over 10 years have shaped and molded my approach to therapy. I consider one of my greatest strengths as my ability to listen for understanding rather than to respond. I remove any preconceived notions and see each person as a unique individual with their own story. This allows me to meet you precisely where you are in your journey. I see myself as a multifaceted and adaptable counselor. There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. I enjoy the challenge of finding unique solutions tailored to each individual.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which focuses on thought patterns that are no longer serving you. We work together to create alternative thoughts and perspectives to facilitate more adaptive behaviors and emotions. This method helps create a healthier relationship with others and yourself.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I provide culturally sensitive therapy which focuses on the individual, and meeting each person where they are. Culture is not a monolithic entity, and each person has their own unique cultural experience. I consider myself a sounding board, who listens for understanding and with empathy with a great respect of the unique cultural experiences you bring into the therapeutic space.

Faith based therapy

I am comfortable exploring faith as it relates to your healing process. Faith and spirituality can be an excellent source of comfort and coping. If you are looking to dive deeper into the role this plays in your life I'm willing to take that step with you.

Narrative

Sometimes individuals get stuck in their own story and forget that their lens is no the only lens. They perspective you take in the story can be broadened if you consider the lens and viewpoint of others involved. Narrative Therapy is a form of treatment that helps individuals explore and reshape their experiences to better serve them and enhance their life, and relationships.
