Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC & LPC) based in Connecticut. I support my clients through life’s inevitable stressors and help them to understand themselves better, all while maintaining a culturally sensitive and empathetic approach so you may feel most supported. I have experience in working with anxiety, adjustment, trauma, anger management, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and in providing career and academic guidance. It is my aim to bring compassion, insight, and everyday coping tools to my work with you; using an integrated approach of person centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practice. Therapy can be a challenging yet life-changing process. If my approach resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out. Taking that first step is often the hardest!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, clients can anticipate a welcoming atmosphere where we'll start with introductions to establish rapport and comfort. From there, we'll explore the specific challenges and goals they wish to address. Through active listening and collaboration, we'll work together to gain insight into their unique situation and begin formulating a tailored plan for our therapeutic journey ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my empathy, active listening skills, and ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. I strive to foster a trusting and collaborative relationship, where clients feel heard, understood, and supported in their journey towards growth and healing. Additionally, my training and experience enable me to utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. Ultimately, my goal is to empower clients to overcome obstacles, gain self-awareness, and make positive changes in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT over the past 5 years with clients. When someone expresses that they are struggling with anxiety, depression, or other challenges, I introduce them to the principles of CBT in a way that feels accessible and empowering. Together, we explore thought patterns and behavioral habits, identifying areas where they can make positive changes. I provide guidance and support as they learn to challenge their negative thoughts and develop healthier coping strategies. Every client is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs and preferences. Some may thrive with structured exercises and worksheets, while others prefer more open-ended discussions. Whatever the method, the goal remains the same: to help clients break free from the grip of their mental health challenges and live more fulfilling lives.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a structured therapy approach specifically designed to help individuals process and make sense of traumatic experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses primarily on exploring emotions, CPT targets the underlying thoughts and beliefs that keep people stuck in a cycle of distress. As a therapist, I'm deeply passionate about helping others reclaim their lives from the aftermath of trauma. When clients come to me seeking relief from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), I introduce them to the principles of CPT in a way that feels safe and empowering. Together, we explore the impact of their traumatic experiences on their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, and we work collaboratively to challenge and reframe those patterns. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for clients to process their emotions and share their stories at their own pace.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

When using person centered therapy, I serve as a facilitator of growth and self-discovery, rather than a director of change. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore their goals, values, and aspirations, guiding them on their journey of self-exploration and personal growth. I trust in the inherent wisdom and resilience of each individual, honoring their unique experiences and perspectives. While PCT provides a framework for therapy, it's not a one-size-fits-all approach. I adapt my therapeutic style to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client, recognizing that every individual is on their own path of self-discovery. Whether through reflective listening, empathic understanding, or encouragement, I strive to create a therapeutic experience that feels deeply personalized and empowering.

Integrative

At its core, Integrative Therapy is about embracing the diversity of human experience and tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs and preferences. Whether drawing from cognitive-behavioral techniques, psychodynamic insights, or mindfulness practices, Integrative Therapy allows me to craft a customized treatment plan that honors the whole person. One of the key benefits of Integrative Therapy is its flexibility and adaptability. Rather than adhering rigidly to one particular approach, I have the freedom to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic tools and techniques, depending on what resonates most with each client. As a therapist, I approach each client with an open mind and a willingness to explore what works best for them.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a powerful therapeutic approach that involves being fully present in the moment, observing thoughts and sensations without judgment. I integrate mindfulness into my practice by teaching clients various techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, body scans, or guided meditations. I also enjoy incorporating mindfulness into cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients manage stress, anxiety, depression, or other concerns.
