Hi, I'm April and I'm here to work with you. The past few years have shown us that we all have times when we may need someone to talk to. We can no longer sit on thoughts without a safe space to share and work through them. I help those who want to be a better version of themselves. My approach is to view you not only as an individual but as a part of your environment as well. Whether you are entering a new phase in your life, dealing with an unresolved issue, anxiety or depression, I'm here to help. Therapy may challenge you at times, but growth comes from those moments and I'm here with you. The therapeutic process looks different for everyone. Let's take the first step.
After our first session expect to have some questions about what the process will be. Subsequent sessions should leave you with small tasks to review and over time you will come to sessions with a clear goal of what you want to address.
My treatment methods come from post graduate training in Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Reality Therapy. While I may utilize methods from these theories, I also utilize resources from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
My biggest strengths are working with clients management mood disorders, life transitions and parental relationships.
