Hi! I’m Aimee, and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe in empowering people to embrace their authenticity and live a life that aligns with their truest self. My approach to therapy is grounded in nervous system awareness and creating a space where you feel supported, understood, and safe to explore your experiences without judgment.

My approach to therapy is grounded in nervous system awareness and creating a space where you feel supported, understood, and safe to explore your experiences without judgment.

I view therapy as a collaborative process- my role is not to tell you who to be or what choices to make, but to help you better understand yourself, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build the confidence to move forward in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you. I believe that I do not know better, only differently, and that healing and growth happen through curiosity, connection, and collaboration.

First session

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and collaborative space where we begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. The intake session is primarily focused on gathering background information, discussing current challenges, and identifying goals for therapy so I can better understand your experiences and how to best support you. While I may ask a lot of questions during this session, there is never pressure to share more than you are comfortable with, and we will move at a pace that feels supportive for you.

Strengths

I consider my strengths as a therapist to be: building genuine therapeutic relationships, creating emotionally safe and affirming spaces, and helping clients feel deeply seen and understood. I bring a compassionate yet direct approach that balances emotional insight with practical support. My sense of humor will also make it's way into our sessions. While our relationship will remain professional, I will always bring my authentic self to sessions and hope that it creates a space for you to do that too.

Ideal clients

I am passionate about working with clients who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, especially during periods of change or stress. Whether navigating anxiety, family conflict, parenting challenges, identity exploration, or relationship difficulties, I aim to help clients better understand themselves and build healthier ways of coping and connecting. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in creating a safe and affirming space for all clients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based therpay can assist in increasing the mind-body connection by tuning into cues from the nervous system. As I see fit, I utilize mindfulness strategies and techniques within the session so clients can practice in real time.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and better understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical strategies to challenge them, improve coping skills, and create meaningful behavioral change.

Attachment-based

I use attachment-based therapy to help explore how early relationships and life experiences shape the way individuals connect with themselves and others. It is a lens that helps us examine patterns in relationships, emotional responses, and attachment styles to better understand underlying needs, fears, and coping mechanisms.

Narrative

I have found that Narrative therapy allows clients to explore the stories they tell about themselves, their relationships, and their life experiences and gain a new perspective. Together, we identify patterns and beliefs that may be limiting or keeping them stuck, while creating space for alternative narratives that reflect their strengths, values, and resilience.

I really like our conversations. I tend to get off track when talking and I feel she understands what I am saying and makes me understand what i am trying to say. I look forward to talk to her every week because I feel heard and understood even when I am not sure I am making a bit of sense. Thank you for your time and patience with me. I know I am alot.

Thank you for listening and being understanding. My thought process on problems is a bit chaotic, but I feel you can be my next safe spot to really open up and find the deeper me.
