I’m a Professional Counselor based in San Diego, CA, licensed to practice in both California and Maryland. I earned my Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2010 and have over a decade of experience in the mental health field, including work in HIV/AIDS clinical research. In our work together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space. We’ll uncover what’s holding you back, build on your strengths, and help you take meaningful steps toward the life you want.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, what you’d like to work on, and any challenges you’re facing. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, and you’re welcome to ask me any questions about therapy or how I work. By the end of the session, we’ll talk about your goals and how we can work together to help you move forward. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood.
As a therapist, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and truly heard. I bring a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to our work, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings openly. My ability to stay attuned to your needs helps me meet you where you are, offering support that feels both genuine and kind. I also believe that authenticity is key to building a strong therapeutic relationship, and I bring my full self to our sessions—including a good sense of humor when it’s helpful. Together, we can navigate your journey with trust, care, and even a bit of laughter along the way.
We will explore the deeper layers of your mind, examining how early experiences, unresolved conflicts and unconscious thoughts may shape your present feelings and behaviors. This process uncovers hidden patterns, core beliefs, and emotions, offering you a safe space to understand their roots. With these insights, you can work through past traumas, release emotional blocks, and make more conscious choices, fostering healthier relationships.
