I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2015. I have 11 years of counseling experience, with 6 of those being specifically with the active duty and veteran military population. The other 5 years were spent providing counseling to adolescents/ teenagers and their families. Since starting my private practice, I have assissted adults and teens with depression, anxiety, life stress, parenting and relationship challenges, and faith-based concerns. Personally, I have been married for 13 years and have four children, ages 11, 7, 5, and 2. My clients would describe me as empathetic, compassionate, and transparent. I use solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR therapy in my practice.
I have experience working with military families and service members. I have helped clients with military unique stressors, combat trauma, sexual assault trauma, nightmares, hyper-vigilance, irritability, and anger. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), which is an evidenced based modality for treating PTSD and trauma. Besides treating trauma and PTSD, I have also assisted clients with anxiety, depression, family issues, life stress, parenting challenges, and men's issues.
