Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I received both my bachelor's and master's degree from Texas Women's University in Texas. I have been incredibly lucky to have worked with a diverse population of clients in the 11 years that I have been a therapist. I began my career working with children in foster care, spent some time as a mobile crisis counselor doing suicide/homicide assessments, and then moved into working with children on the autism spectrum and their families. For the past five years I have been in private practice focusing on individuals, couples, and families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will spend some time getting to know one another. it is my belief that the therapeutic relationship is key. We will also go over what you can expect from therapy, and what are limitations to therapy. I like to explain that therapy takes work, time, and that it there is no such thing as a "quick fix".

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am always learning as a therapist. But I've learned that many of us come to this profession because we've also been through many of the things that our clients come to see us for. It is what attracted us to the profession to begin with. We are all human, have emotions and we all stumble and fall. Make mistakes. Experience trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. And at the end of the day... we are all just doing the best we can and need to do better for each other.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've used CBT techniques for over 10 years to collaboratively work with my clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns. By exploring the origin of these thoughts, examining evidence for/against them, and working towards reframing them in more constructive ways we can foster awareness, develop healthier perspectives, and coping strategies.

Sex Therapy

Sex therapy can be effective by providing a safe space for individuals or couples to address and explore intimate concerns. through open communication, education, and tailored interventions, sex therapy helps people overcome issues related to desire, communication, and intimacy. The focus on enhancing sexual well-being contributes to improved relationships and overall emotional satisfaction.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling I aim to strengthen relationships by fostering open communication, addressing conflicts, and enhancing understanding between partners. By providing a neutral and supportive environment, couples counseling helps individuals build healthier connections and develop tools for navigating challenges together.
