Hi, I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience helping children, teens, adults, older adults, and families navigate life's most difficult moments. Throughout my career, I've worked in community mental health, child welfare, military behavioral health, HIV care, Latino mental health, crisis intervention, and most recently, supporting older adults living with serious mental illness. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Together, we'll identify your strengths, work through challenges, and build practical tools that help you move toward the life you want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll ask questions about your personal history, relationships, health, and other important areas of your life so I can better understand your experiences and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and goals. There is no pressure to share everything during the first session. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you're always welcome to ask questions along the way. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. By the end of our first meeting, we'll identify your goals for therapy, discuss recommendations for treatment, and decide together on the best path forward. Whether you're seeking support through a difficult time, healing from past experiences, or working toward personal growth, we'll take that first step together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe the foundation of meaningful therapy is a strong, authentic relationship. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, without fear of judgment and where they feel supported while also being gently challenged to grow. My style is warm, collaborative, and practical, balancing empathy with evidence-based strategies that can be applied in everyday life. With my experience I bring a broad clinical perspective that allows me to meet clients wherever they are in their journey. I recognize that every person's experiences, values, and goals are different, so I tailor treatment to fit the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. As a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural therapist, I also understand the important role that culture, family, and identity play in emotional well-being. My goal is to help clients feel understood, build on their existing strengths, and develop the insight and skills needed to create meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with teens and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, caregiver stress, or the emotional impact of chronic illness. I also enjoy working with individuals navigating cultural or identity-related experiences, military families, Spanish-speaking clients, and those who have spent much of their lives caring for others before themselves. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure of where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult season or looking for long-term personal growth, I'm here to help you find a path forward at your own pace.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I use an attachment-based approach to help clients understand how early relationships and life experiences may influence the way they connect with others, manage emotions, and view themselves. I will explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, strengthen healthier ways of relating, and build a greater sense of security, trust, and resilience in relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I will help you identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge beliefs that may be contributing to distress, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. CBT also focuses on building practical skills that clients can apply in their daily lives to better manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I use culturally sensitive therapy by recognizing and respecting the unique cultural backgrounds, identities, values, and lived experiences that shape each client's perspective. I create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood, while exploring how culture, family, language, spirituality, and life experiences may influence their mental health and relationships.

Christian Counseling

For clients who wish to incorporate their faith into therapy, I integrate Christian counseling in a way that aligns with their personal beliefs and values. This may include exploring how faith can serve as a source of strength, hope, and resilience, while incorporating biblical principles, prayer, or spiritual reflection when appropriate and desired by the client. My goal is to provide compassionate, respectful care that honors each person's spiritual journey while using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support healing and growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, coping with stress, improving relationships, and responding more effectively to life's challenges. Together, we focus on building mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills that can be applied in everyday situations.
