Hi! I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) based in Ohio. I received my Masters from Miami University and have been practicing in the field of Social Work for 7 years. I help adolescents - older adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life changes, stress, trauma processing and more to life healthier and more full lives. I am an advocate and counselor. I come from a person-centered, humanistic approach and a strengths-based framework. I utilize connection, experience and the latest research to work with clients towards hope and healing. I have a heart for others to be known and heard and thoroughly value meeting others where they are. I am so grateful for this work and privilege to be a part of another's healing story, even for just a blip. Personally, I enjoy being with my family, traveling and doing anything outdoors, and creating spaces for others to gather and share a meal with.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create an individualized plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that the mind and body are so intricately involved. Which means that I value getting to the root cause of the presenting problem. This includes understanding physical health as well to determine if there is a root physical health concern that may be contributing to a mental health concern.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

As a believer, I use Christian counseling in my treatment methods for those who desire to involve their faith in their treatment. I utilize prayer, scripture, and other biblical sources for wisdom and support as needed.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are all connected. I use CBT to help clients determine the connection of these three in their lives and get to the root belief/feeling/thought that is disrupting healthy patterns.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma can impact our thoughts/feelings/beliefs. For those who have suffered through a trauma, I use Trauma-focused CBT to help heal from the negative impact on the body's nervous system and create healthier patterns of existing in one body/mind.

Couples Counseling

I use Couples Counseling to help those who may need better/easier communication techniques, understanding their own wired beliefs/thoughts that impact their relationship with a significant other, and help couples move toward oneness and enjoyment.

Humanistic

The mind and body is connected. I use the Humanistic approach to help clients get to root cause issues. I encourage a connection with a Primary Care Physician or a trusted physician to determine if mental health concerns are roots in a physical health concern.
