Hi! I am a LMSW in the state of Michigan. I have my Bachelors Degree from The University of Chicago at Illinois and my Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. Prior to transitioning to private practice, I worked as a School Social Worker for 15 years. I also have experience working with adults with disabilities as well as the gerontology population.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. This journey is yours and I will walk along side of you to support you in achieving your goals!
I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are and providing a safe place to be open and honest. I also like to integrate humor when appropriate into our sessions because who doesn't need to smile and laugh!
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
