About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I have 23 years of experience working with and helping those with mental health issues. I have a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. As a result of traumatic experiences and other factors from my childhood, I battled with addiction and my own mental health issues (anxiety and depression) for many years. I have been abstinent from all drugs and alcohol since 2010 and have been able to reduce my anxiety and depression to low level where I am able to function and live a rather content lifestyle. I would like the opportunity to use my own personal experiences combined with my educational learning to help you achieve the same or better mental well being than I have achieved.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session, generally, will consist of me asking numerous questions to help me gain insight into the problem (s) you are presenting, which will help us determine which route to take in treating you and getting you better.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I enjoy working with people who have any type of addiction to anything. I like working with those newly abstinent from drugs and/or alcohol-to help them learn how to just live life. I also like working with people who have mood disorders (ex. depression, bipolar, etc), anxiety disorders, and trauma related issues.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are willing to talk about it then I am willing to help you with it and if it is beyond my scope of practice I will help you find someone that can help you with it.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a very structured and effective treatment for people who are experiencing distress from PTSD and/or events that a person has lived through that they perceive as traumatic. There is a very high probability that I can help you eliminate all symptoms or help you get to a point where the symptoms are not distressing you and causing you to miss out on your life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT for many years and find it is effective in helping you recover from various mental health conditions.
