New to Grow
I am a Licensed Profession Counselor with experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds and strive to be both culturally inclusive and trauma-informed. I primarily work with adults and take a holistic approach, which means I believe in addressing concerns in every area of your life. My therapeutic approach primarily draws from a person-centered, strength-based approach, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy and I always cater my approach to the unique needs of each person. My goal is to partner with you and create a safe and supportive space that allows you to address your concerns, improve your overall health and achieve your goals.
The focus in our first session will be on establishing a good partnership which will require answering each other's questions with an emphasis on getting an understanding of your needs and expectations. I will ask about your safety, current circumstances and concerns, your overall health, your background, if you've had any previous experience with therapy and begin to identify some goals. Be assured that I will listen intently and non-judgmentally however do not feel pressured to share beyond your level of comfort.
I am naturally curious, an intent listener and seek to understand people, their strengths, their needs and their unique solutions. I focus on strengths and helping people identify how to use them to overcome their challenges. I take pride in providing support and empowering people in improving their lives and overall health.
A majority of my clinical practice has involved supporting adults facing challenges coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem and feeling overwhelmed. I've found that the people I've worked with in therapy are stuck in patterns of thinking and behavior and need help to identify and address these patterns to improve their mental health, overall health, level of functioning and relationships with others. I have seen the best results when there is a good partnership and an understanding that sharing openly and honestly and action on both our parts will lead to progress.

I identify as
Eclectic
I am trained in several methods and incorporate them based on the client's needs. I always lead with person centered and use motivational interviewing to determine the client's needs. If, for example, the client presents with anxiety which is exacerbated by disordered thinking I would employ CBT and behavioral therapy to address this issue.
