New to Grow
I am a bilingual Hispanic-Latina psychologist who provides therapy in both English and Spanish. For over six years, I have supported individuals as they navigate life's challenges, transitions, and opportunities for growth. I specialize in trauma, emotional healing, and grief in all its forms. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or burdened by experiences they have carried for a long time. Whether you are coping with loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, life transitions, cultural or immigration-related stressors, or the lasting impact of trauma, you do not have to navigate it alone. My approach is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and deep listening. I believe healing happens within the context of a genuine therapeutic relationship—one where you feel seen, heard, respected, and understood. I strive to create a supportive space where you can explore your experiences openly and move toward healing at your own pace. As a strengths-based therapist, I support clients recognize and build upon their resilience, wisdom, and existing capacities for growth. I also believe it is important to understand our experiences within the larger social and cultural contexts that shape our lives. Together, we explore how factors such as family dynamics, cultural expectations, discrimination, immigration experiences, and systemic inequities may influence emotional well-being. My work focuses on support clients reconnect with themselves, identify what matters most, and create lives that feel meaningful and aligned with their values. Whether you are seeking healing, greater self-understanding, or support through a difficult season of life, I am committed to meeting you with empathy, curiosity, and respect. I believe healing is possible, and that you deserve a space where your story is honored and your experiences are valued. It would be a privilege to accompany you on your journey toward growth and emotional well-being.
Starting therapy can feel both exciting and vulnerable. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you have worked with a therapist before, my goal is to create a welcoming, compassionate, and supportive space where you feel comfortable being yourself. During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and exploring what has brought you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant life experiences, strengths, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin—our conversation will unfold at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will also share more about who I am, my therapeutic approach, and how I can support you in your healing and growth. I believe that finding the right therapeutic fit is an important part of the process, and the first session provides an opportunity for us to determine whether we are a good match for working together. As part of our conversation, we will discuss evidence-based treatment approaches that may be helpful for your unique needs and goals. Depending on your experiences and preferences, this may include approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, humanistic therapy, and culturally responsive interventions. Together, we will explore what feels most aligned with your values, strengths, and hopes for therapy. We will also begin identifying and establishing treatment goals. These goals will serve as a roadmap for our work together and will be tailored to your unique needs, values, and aspirations. Whether your goals involve managing anxiety, processing grief, healing from trauma, improving relationships, navigating life transitions, or gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, we will collaborate to create a treatment plan that feels meaningful and achievable. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in compassion. I strive to create a space where your experiences are honored, your identities are respected, and your story can be explored with curiosity and care. Throughout our work, we will focus not only on understanding challenges, but also on identifying your strengths, clarifying your values, and moving toward the life you want to create. By the end of our first session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapy process, the treatment approaches we may use, your initial treat
I bring a grounded, compassionate, and culturally responsive approach to my work, shaped by over six years of experience providing psychotherapy. My style is warm, authentic, and rooted in empathy, with a strong focus on creating a space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. What makes my sessions unique is the way I integrate evidence-based practices with a deep awareness of both individual and socio-cultural contexts. I support clients in exploring their experiences not only from a personal perspective, but also through a critical understanding of the social, cultural, and structural factors that shape their lives. In our work together, I emphasize your strengths, values, and lived experiences, helping you reconnect with your sense of agency and direction. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, gain clarity, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who you are.
I believe that healing happens through genuine human connection. I welcome individuals who are seeking a compassionate, supportive, and affirming space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted. My approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful source of healing and transformation. I work with adults who may be navigating grief and loss, life transitions, questions of identity and purpose, or emotional challenges such as anxiety, sadness, and stress. You may find yourself asking questions like: *Why is this happening to me? Who am I? Where am I going?* Therapy can offer a space to explore these questions with curiosity, self-compassion, and support. I also work with individuals who have experienced significant life events, adversity, or trauma and are seeking to better understand their experiences, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward healing. In addition, I recognize that our emotional well-being is deeply influenced by the social, cultural, and political environments in which we live. I welcome clients who are impacted by systemic oppression, discrimination, immigration experiences, cultural expectations, social injustice, or other socio-political stressors that affect their daily lives and sense of self. As a Latina psychologist, I am particularly passionate about supporting Latinx and Hispanic individuals, women, immigrants, first-generation individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to provide a culturally responsive and affirming space where all aspects of your identity are respected and valued. Above all, I welcome any person who is seeking a space for reflection, healing, growth, and self-discovery. Wherever you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, ACT helps clients learn how to make space for their experiences while reducing the struggle against them. Together, we work toward building a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and aligned with what matters most. My goal is not to help you become free of difficult emotions—because difficult emotions are part of being human. Instead, I aim to support you develop the skills to respond to those experiences with openness, courage, and self-compassion, so you can create a rich and meaningful life aligned with your values.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
As a psychologist, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and coping with life's challenges more effectively. DBT is an evidence-based treatment that combines acceptance and change strategies, helping individuals learn how to validate their experiences while also building new skills to create meaningful change. DBT is based on the idea that two things can be true at the same time: you can accept yourself as you are today, and you can work toward growth and change. In therapy, we collaborate to find balance between these perspectives while building skills that support emotional well-being and resilience.
Humanistic
I believe that every person has an inherent capacity for growth, healing, and self-discovery. Through a Humanistic approach, I provide a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, deepen their self-understanding, and move toward living more authentically. Humanistic therapy focuses on the whole person rather than a diagnosis or set of symptoms. It emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, personal meaning, individual strengths, and the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and change. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to support you in discovering your own answers, strengths, and path forward.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I believe that effective therapy recognizes and honors the unique cultural experiences, identities, values, and life stories that shape who we are. Through a culturally sensitive approach, I strive to create a safe, affirming, and respectful space where clients feel understood within the context of their culture, family, community, and lived experiences. Culture influences how we view ourselves, relate to others, express emotions, cope with challenges, and seek support. In therapy, I take time to understand the many aspects of your identity—including culture, ethnicity, race, language, immigration experiences, family traditions, spirituality, gender, and other important influences—so that our work together reflects your unique perspective and values.
Trauma Informed Care
Through a trauma-informed approach, I recognize the impact that traumatic experiences can have on emotional well-being, relationships, physical health, and daily functioning. My goal is to create a supportive and empowering environment where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful. Trauma can result from a wide range of experiences, including childhood adversity, abuse, neglect, family conflict, community violence, discrimination, loss, accidents, medical experiences, or other overwhelming life events. Trauma-informed care acknowledges that these experiences can shape how individuals view themselves, others, and the world around them. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" a trauma-informed approach asks, "What happened to you, and how have those experiences affected your life?"
