Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in CT, with over 15 years of experience working with children, teenagers and adults. I have worked in the school system for over 10 years, and am well experienced helping folks with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, ADHD, Learning Disabilities or Anxiety maximize their strengths, work through their challenges, and thrive. I also help folks who have experienced trauma improve their relationships and quality of life.
During our first session I will review any paperwork you have completed online and ask follow up questions to get a better understanding of who you are, what brings you to therapy, and what outcomes you would like to see. I can tell you a little about myself as well. Together, we will decide if we are a good fit for one another, and we will create a collaborative and personalized path toward healing and growth, always working at a pace that feels right for you.
I approach therapy with warmth and compassion, using a person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused style to create a supportive and empowering environment. This means I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship where your needs, goals, and unique strengths guide our work together. I also believe a therapist's role is to gently challenge a client when they are ready and it is warranted. I believe in teaching and learning practical strategies to deal with life's challenges. I also believe that we are all always learning and growing. Everyone has challenges. Thus, I treat my clients with respect and dignity.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps us explore how your thoughts influence feelings and behaviors, allowing us to identify and reframe unhelpful patterns. I use CBT techniques to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, or symptoms related to trauma experiences as well as to improve confidence, self esteem and relationships with oneself and others. Experience using this modality with children ages 5+ and adults.
I integrate trauma-focused approaches to provide care that is sensitive and responsive to your experiences. My experience includes understanding, implementing, and training others in approaching spaces and relationships with a trauma-informed lens both in a school-based setting, in homes, and in offices with children and with adults.
Family therapy includes building upon parent strengths, communication, conflict resolution and more with children and their families as well as with adults and their siblings or parents. I also provide psychoeducation to parents or guardians of children with ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, mental health disorders, trauma experiences, and more, helping families to mend relationships, improve understanding, create safe spaces and implement behavioral strategies to improve family dynamics and their children's overall functioning
Trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - this incorporates practices like meditation and grounding to help you find calm and balance in the present moment.
