Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients make sense of how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences influence one another. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping them stuck, whether that involves anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or other life stressors. I believe that understanding ourselves is important, but so is learning practical skills that can be used in everyday life., as well as discussing and developing a healthy support system and self-care routine to maintain overall healthy functioning. My approach combines insight, education, and collaborative problem-solving to help clients build healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and move toward their personal goals with greater confidence and self-awareness.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use acceptance and commitment therapy (act) techniques to help clients develop psychological flexibility and build a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. A core component of my work involves helping clients develop cognitive defusion skills, learning to recognize thoughts as thoughts rather than facts, commands, or reflections of their identity. I work collaboratively with clients to reduce the impact of self-defeating thought patterns, increase present-moment awareness, and make values-based choices even when experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related distress, grief, or other challenges. My approach emphasizes practical application, helping clients develop skills they can use in everyday life to respond more effectively to emotional discomfort and move toward meaningful personal goals.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

One of the core beliefs of my practice is the belief that people possess an inherent capacity for growth, healing, and change. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, heard, and accepted without judgment. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, and I work to understand each client's unique experiences, perspectives, and goals rather than imposing predetermined solutions. By fostering trust, empathy, and genuine connection, I help clients explore challenges, gain insight into themselves, build upon their existing strengths, and move toward meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to provide a space where clients can be authentic, feel understood, and develop greater confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges.
