Before becoming a mental health professional, Pedro worked as a law enforcement officer for several years at the local and federal levels. While working for the federal government, Pedro was fortunate enough to live in several states within the United States of America and visit several countries on assignments. Pedro attended Michigan State University, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Pedro obtained his Master of Arts degree in Forensic psychology. Pedro is currently attending a PhD program in International Psychology.
In the first session, we will complete an overview history and summarize presenting problems that bring you to therapy. We will discuss additional assessments that may need to be completed as well as how the structures of the sessions will be conducted. We will take time to build rapport and discover who you are outside of therapy. Lastly, we will answer any outstanding questions.
The greatest strength is experiencing the life of a first responder first hand and truly understanding the sacrifices that are needed.
Pedro has a passion for traveling and learning about various cultures. Pedro specializes in the following disorders and populations: Personality Disorder, Cluster B (Antisocial Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder), Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders (Post post-traumatic stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder), Physical, sexual, emotional/psychological abuse, trauma related to military combat, and trauma related to duties of first responders.
