Julie Jacobs
I graduated from Argosy University in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. I am licensed by the state of Arizona as an LPC and an LPC-Supervisor. I am trained and experienced in numerous modalities and describe myself as an eclectic humanistic therapist. In addition to being certified in Sand Tray Therapy, I am also trained and certified by EMDRIA as an EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing-therapist. I have additional training in play therapy, art therapy, music therapy, grief therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and more. I believe therapy is not “one size fits all” and have a variety of ‘tools’ to meet my clients where they are.
First session
A typical first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and build a relationship where YOU feel heard, respected, and cared about. We will discuss YOUR needs, wants, likes, dislikes, fears, etc. so I am able to provide YOU with the right support for YOU!
Strengths
I am very empathetic, caring, and intuitive. I love people and my clients tell me it shows and they 'feel' it. I am also flexible in my approach and love to build relationships where healing can occur.
Ideal clients
I love working with people who are ready to make changes, but need support and tools to be successful. Therapy can sound overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be! If you need a cheerleader, a motivator, a teacher/coach, sounding board, and/or therapy for trauma or grief I'd love the opportunity to connect and see if we are a match.
