CBT is utilized to aid client in understanding how their mood and thoughts can influence behaviors.
DBT is utilized to aid clients in implementing strategies for acceptance and change. Clients will practice mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
I am certified in ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy which utilizes rapid eye movement as EMDR does just in a quicker time frame of sessions. ART is unique because the ART Therapist guides the client to replace the negative images in the mind that cause the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress with positive images of the client’s choosing. And this is done quickly, most often within one session! Once the negative images have been replaced by positive ones, the triggers will be gone. Nightmares and repeated intrusive thoughts will stop.
