New to Grow
I work together with clients to help them understand the environmental, biological, and social situations that have shaped them and to find a path forward. After graduating from Loma Linda University, I have worked with adults, adolescents, and families to help clients reach their goals. My background includes working for the Navy, addiction treatment, in-home family therapy, school counseling, in-depth assessments, and teaching.
The basis for any human connection is a warm and authentic relationship. I create a place where you are free to be yourself and be truly seen. Sometimes change comes through seeing things in a different light, other times you might choose to experiment with changing actions or thoughts. As you grow your passions will help you live your mission.
I believe Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy helps to give a good scientific understanding of the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and actions. I supplement this with Solution-Focused, Existential, Narrative, Family-Systems, and Artistic techniques. I think of therapy as hiring a personal trainer for your mind: I provide expertise, but you do the work.
I have extensive experience helping individuals and families navigate difficult circumstances. My specialties include AD/HD, anxiety, addiction, trauma, relationships, parenting, and gifted or struggling students. I believe in holistic growth that addresses the client's mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual goals. Therapy is a space where you are accepted for your true self. By being open and transparent, you can understand your strengths and challenges and work towards using your talents and experiences to live with purpose.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In CBT therapy we look at how our thoughts and actions influence our emotions and work towards healthy patterns of thinking and acting. We look at how the environment, your genetics, and your beliefs influence your responses to situations.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
In solution-focused therapy we focus on your strengths and goals. While accepting your struggles, we recognize the many positives you are bringing to the table and the progress you are making.
Family Therapy
In family therapy we examine the interactions between people and find ways to work together towards shared goals.
Existential
Existential therapy examines your core reasons for living including connection and responsibility. We explore existential angst and anxiety and ultimately find paths to live your fullest life.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-focused therapy examines the effects of trauma on thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It provides a safe space to process difficult circumstances and leads to positive coping strategies.
