New to Grow
My approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, incorporating techniques from CBT, attachment-based therapy, play-based interventions, mindfulness, and emotional regulation skill-building. I work with children and adults experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem concerns, social difficulties, trauma-related experiences, and life transitions. I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy approach used to help individuals process distressing experiences, trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions in a safe and supportive way. EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult memories so they feel less emotionally overwhelming and disruptive in daily life. My goal is to help children and adults feel empowered, understood, and capable of navigating life with greater confidence, healing, and emotional well-being.
During the first session, my goal is to help children, families, or individuals feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported. I understand starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or even a little intimidating, so I take a calm, gentle, and relationship-focused approach. The first session is primarily about getting to know you, learning about your strengths, interests, challenges, and experience. For there, we'll begin to build trust in a safe and supportive environment.
I use an integrative approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) an evidence-based approach, strengths-based interventions, solution-focused strategies, and trauma-informed care. My work emphasizes identifying patterns, building healthy coping skills, improving emotional awareness, and developing practical tools clients can apply in everyday life.
My ideal clients are children, adolescents, or adults who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, trauma-related experiences, or difficulties navigating relationships at home, school, or with peers. I work well with individuals who benefit from a warm, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment where they can feel safe expressing themselves and building confidence in their emotions and abilities.
EMDR
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that helps clients heal from distressing experiences. EMDR works by guiding individuals to recall challenging memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation. Many clients find these memories become less overwhelming, with a reduction in emotional intensity and negative beliefs about themselves. I tailor EMDR to meet each client's needs- whether working with children, adolescents, or adults- by integrating developmentally appropriate techniques, building strong coping skills, and ensuring clients feel safe and supported.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy to help clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. This approach encourages individuals to slow down and observe their experiences without judgment, which can reduce reactivity and increase a sense of control and clarity.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This structured, evidence-based approach focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and developing more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. Together, we'll explore how these patterns impact daily life on practical tasks.
Trauma Informed Care
I incorporate trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive, and emotionally attuned environment where individuals feel respected and understood. I recognize behaviors often reflect underlying stress, trauma, or unmet emotional needs, and I focus on helping both children and adults build emotional regulation, coping skills, and resilience through developmentally appropriate, strengths-based interventions.
Attachment-based
I utilize an attachment-based approach that emphasizes the importance of secure, supportive relationships in a child’s emotional and behavioral development. I help children and adolescents strengthen emotional awareness, trust, and connection while partnering with caregivers to foster healthy attachment, communication, and emotional safety.
