Are you someone who is just starting to embark on your journey to improve your quality of life and mental health? Are you someone who has been under the care of a psychiatric provider and is looking for a more personalized approach to your care? Or are you someone who has had a bad experience with mental health services and is looking for a much more positive and empathetic approach? Look no further. My name is Gina Ameri, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). With extensive experience in mental health care, I treat individuals across the lifespan, ages 8-65, managing a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and more. I provide virtual telehealth sessions rooted in evidence-based practices, always prioritizing patient safety and comfort. My approach is collaborative, personalized, and holistic. I believe in creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and free to explore their needs without judgment. Through medication management and brief psychotherapy, I work to restore clients’ quality of life, promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle while focusing on their individual treatment goals. I'm approachable and compassionate, qualities that help clients who may feel hesitant about seeking mental health care—especially those who have faced previous challenges or negative experiences. By actively listening and adapting treatment plans as needed, I ensure that clients feel supported every step of the way. In our work together, clients can expect frequent follow-ups, as I believe in a proactive approach to care. This ensures steady progress and achievement of goals. My mission is to break down barriers to high-quality mental health care and help dismantle the stigma that surrounds it. Clients can trust that their well-being is at the forefront of my care as I partner with them to create lasting, meaningful change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, expect to have a thorough evaluation. We will discuss your treatment goals and areas where you would like to see improvement. We will collectively generate a treatment plan that you are comfortable with and discuss any expectations. I take a hands on approach with my patients and I will see you as frequently as necessary to help you achieve the results and improvements that you are seeking, with patient safety at the forefront.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am holistic in my approach to care and feel that a balance in mind, body, and spirit is important. The treatment plans that I generate are rooted in evidence-based practice guidelines and are safety forward. I am conservative and try to use the least amount of medication needed to improve symptoms and overall functionality. I address my client's concerns about treatment and obtain a thorough medical and psychiatric history. I utilize self-assessment screening tools, such as the PHQ-9 or GAD-7, to help measure progress. I actively listen to patients and try to understand their goals. I also like to build rapport with clients and get to know them, which helps build trust. Ultimately, I would like clients to feel that their provider does care and wants the best for their overall health.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am approachable and down to earth, which helps clients who are ambivalent about addressing mental health needs or who have had a bad experience in the past. I have impeccable critical thinking skills, substantial clinical expertise, and extensive experience in health care. I take the time to listen and understand clients. I am respectful and non-judgmental. I am transparent and try to provide a clear picture of what to expect. Overall, I feel that clients under my care tend to stay because of the care I deliver, which is a reflection that my words are backed with action. I strive to help demolish the barriers to quality mental health care and work to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health. Please do not hesitate to book an appointment with me if this aligns with what you have been seeking in a psychiatric provider. I look forward to working with you.
