I am a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, heal from past experiences, and develop practical skills for lasting emotional and relational health. My approach integrates evidence-based therapeutic methods with compassion, practical problem-solving, and when desired by the client, faith-based support. I strive to create a safe, respectful environment where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brought you to counseling. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy so that I can better understand your needs and goals. This session also provides an opportunity for you to ask questions about the counseling process and determine whether you feel comfortable working together. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying initial goals and discussing possible approaches that can support your progress moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist include my ability to combine compassion with practical, results-oriented strategies that help clients create meaningful change in their lives. I focus on helping clients understand the root of their challenges while also equipping them with concrete tools to improve emotional regulation, relationships, and decision-making. I integrate multiple evidence-based approaches to tailor treatment to each individual, and when appropriate, I also incorporate faith-based perspectives that can support healing, purpose, and personal growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are seeking meaningful change and are willing to engage in the process of personal growth. I work well with clients who are navigating trauma, anxiety, substance use, relationship challenges, or significant life transitions, and who want to develop healthier coping skills and stronger emotional regulation. I am particularly well positioned to support clients who value practical tools, personal accountability, and, when desired, the integration of faith and spirituality into the healing process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) extensively in my practice to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I guide clients in recognizing maladaptive thinking patterns, challenging cognitive distortions, and developing healthier belief systems. Through structured interventions, skill-building exercises, and practical behavioral strategies, I help clients improve emotional regulation, problem-solving, and decision-making so they can respond to stressors in more adaptive and constructive ways.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my practice to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding them. I support clients in identifying their core values and committing to behaviors that align with those values, even in the presence of discomfort. Through mindfulness strategies, values clarification, and behavioral commitment exercises, clients learn to respond more intentionally to life’s challenges and build a life that reflects their deeper goals and beliefs.

Christian Counseling

I incorporate Christian Counseling in my practice by integrating biblical principles, faith-based reflection, and spiritual resources alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches. When appropriate to the client’s beliefs and preferences, I support clients in exploring how their faith, relationship with God, and understanding of scripture can provide guidance, healing, and resilience. This may include discussing spiritual struggles, encouraging prayer or scripture meditation, and helping clients align their values, decisions, and personal growth with their Christian faith while also addressing emotional and behavioral health concerns.

Compassion Focused

I utilize Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) in my practice to help clients develop greater self-compassion and reduce shame, self-criticism, and harsh internal dialogue. Through psychoeducation and guided exercises, I help clients understand how the brain’s threat, drive, and soothing systems influence emotional responses. I incorporate compassion-building strategies, mindfulness, and cognitive restructuring to help clients cultivate a kinder internal voice, regulate difficult emotions, and build a greater sense of safety, acceptance, and emotional resilience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice to help clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and tolerating distress without engaging in harmful behaviors. I teach core DBT skill areas including emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Through structured skill-building, guided practice, and real-life application, I help clients learn how to respond to challenging situations more effectively while increasing self-awareness, stability, and resilience.
