You deserve to live your life to its fullest potential. With this in mind, I have dedicated over 20 years to working with individuals through collaborative, relational, solution focused, culturally-informed psychotherapy. My areas of focus are rooted in healing the effects of complex childhood family dynamics, addressing anxiety disorders, managing contemporary stressors, ADHD management, and guiding individuals through areas of their lives where they feel blocked or disconnected. Additionally, throughout my career, I have developed and facilitated clinical workshops that address a range of issues, including: Mind/Body Stress Reduction, Lifestyle Balance, Cognitive-Behavioral Strategies, Grief Work, Time Management, and more—each designed to engage and resonate with those who seek depth and complexity in their personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, I hope to get to know clients better--what they are looking for in a therapist, their goals for therapy and their background. I strive to create a safe space where it is clear that you will be a person I look forward to seeing. I will also outline the ways in which the client can work on their goals during the time in-between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have over 20+ years of experience treating anxiety and related disorders, which I am interested in. I also have found great results in treating complex trauma, and ADHD in adults. Grief and mild Autism Spectrum Disorder are additional areas of interest and experience. I have worked in the university setting for 25 years and have a lot of experience with the graduate student population.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am dedicated to serving the BIPOC population, multicultural and international people. I also have had great rapport with people who have complex childhood or family trauma as part of their experience. My study tends towards the treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders, gifted individuals, victims of narcissistic abuse, and individuals who struggle with ADHD. In terms of age range, I prefer to work with ages 21-60.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

When it comes to reducing anxiety, distress and burnout, the mind/body approaches can be quite effective. Throughout the past 20+ years I have run workshops as well have been integrating this approach into my sessions.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS can be helpful in getting to know and learning how to manage parts of yourself that may be overwhelming. This modality can be quite fun and playful as a therapeutic approach. I have been incorporating this approach for over ten years and have found it effective with anxiety, trauma and depression.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

My educational background is in cultural psychology. I am dedicated to serving multicultural and international populations, who make up a large portion of my caseload.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been shown to be effective with anxiety, worry, depression and ruminating thoughts. Together we can work through ways in which your thoughts, feelings and behaviors can be transformed so that you feel more empowered within you mind and your life.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic approaches can be life altering. It can be transformative, exploring ones past and how it influences relationships within the self and with others. I have been integrating this approach for over 20 years--especially as it relates to family trauma. Additionally, I utilize a relational approach which emphasizes growth through the therapeutic relationship.
