Hello! I became Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in June 2022. I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including education, community agencies and currently work in a correctional environment. I have had clients between the ages of five to over 70 years old. Through my training and work, I have experience working with clients with many different diagnoses throughout the DSM. I would love the opportunity to work with you, if you’d like. I utilize a humanistic and strength-based approach as well as techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy in order to help clients identify areas in their life in which change may be necessary, in order to progress. I have experience working in individual, group and family settings. I would appreciate the opportunity to work with couples as well. However, it should be noted that I have limited experience in this area, despite my family experience, due to the settings I have typically worked in.
In our first session, we will work on laying the foundation. This first day will be to able to give you an idea of whether or not you feel we are a good fit and what to expect moving forward. Most of the time will be spent gathering information to help us determine what we will focus on in ongoing treatment.
I feel my biggest strength is my ability to demonstrate empathy in session and work with people on identifying their own strengths and increasing self-acceptance. This strength comes from helping patients learn about their own inherent self-worth in order to develop stronger boundaries which increases the likelihood of developing healthier relationships.
I am specifically hoping to work with adults who are struggling with depression.
I utilize CBT to help patients understand the impact thoughts have on their emotions and behaviors. I also work with clients on challenging their cognitive distortions.
