About me

Hello, I’m Adrienne. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over six years of experience helping children and adults cope with life stressors. I earned my Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Kentucky in 2017. My therapeutic approach is rooted in CBT and family systems theory. I incorporate whole-body wellness and a holistic approach to treatment. I provide individual counseling incorporating support systems as needed.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is all about building rapport and explaining the therapeutic process. We will review and discuss the documents that were completed prior to the session and discuss the challenges that brought you in to therapy. We will discuss informed consent, boundaries, and confidentiality. Lastly, we will discuss your goals and plan for our next session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is helping clients get to the root cause of their issues. I believe that each person has the answers within them, and with the right support system, they can find their own resolutions. My facilitative listening skills will help you find your own answers. I will help you dive deep into the why of your behaviors so that you are not relying on coping mechanisms. When you understand the why, the healing can begin. I will guide and empower you with the tools you need to overcome anxiety, depression, or other life-changing events.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is one who is ready to put in the work to improve their mental health. They understand that therapy can be difficult, but they are committed to navigating the process and doing the work.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT will be used to help clients identify negative thoughts, behaviors, and beliefs about situations. The client is then empowered to challenge those thoughts by replacing them with more realistic and helpful thoughts and feelings, ultimately aiding in changing behaviors and improving their emotional well-being. I will actively teach clients coping mechanisms through techniques like journaling, relaxation exercises, and behavioral experiments.
