New to Grow
My name is Rossen. However, you can call me "Ross". I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with eleven years of experience in various mental health environments. I have experience helping adults with anxiety, depression, anger and other life stressors; navigate through the "rough" times and hopefully come out stronger and more resilient. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to help my clients unravel, uncover and work towards understanding how they process and react to life's struggles. Sometimes the answer is starring us in the face, it can be difficult to see it. Together, we can work towards your goals and establishing a healthier mind and body connection. I look forward to working with you. Please feel free to contact me.
In our first session, we will spend some time getting acquainted and I listen to what brought you to therapy, how you have been feeling about your current situation and how your situation has affected your life in various capacities. I will be explaining confidentiality and its limits, expectations, how the sessions will work, credentials, and theoretical orientation.
In my therapeutic approach I use active listening to pick up any common themes, thought patterns and subtle nuances that may be contributing to the client's problem or concerns. I have an open mind and may offer a different perspective. As I am "On the outside, looking in." I use specific concepts, metaphors and examples to help simplify psychological terminology. Results can vary and depends on many variables. However, when a client has a "AH-HA" moment, uses the tools obtained in treatment, it can be life changing.
I am positioned to serve my client by combining a strong therapeutic structure, emotional safety and trust, and practical, measurable progress. By helping clients to process emotions, unhealthy thoughts/behaviors, I aim to provide clients with a different perspective, education and help empower them to work towards positive change with support. Using narrative therapy to understand the client's story and highlight themes (topics) to address.
