Marcus Seaton
Hello, I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner across the lifespan(PMHNP). I earned my Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky. My passion is supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life. I have spent the majority of 20 years working in the mental health field, with experiences in emergency department, inpatient, outpatient, extended care and acute care. My approach is to aid clients in meeting their maximum potential in life. I look to offer a plain spoken and therapeutic approach to care that doesn't seem robotic. We will use evidence-based practices to foster a safe and therapeutic place to express yourself. I look forward to meet you.
First session
In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction to set a comfortable environment. We will complete our intake assessment, which includes, gathering background, current events, and medical history. We'll discuss your expectations and set goals for our treatment plan. After that we will schedule follow up appointments and continue to work together to help you meet your maximum potential.
Strengths
As a mental health professional with 20 years of mental health experience, my biggest strength is my ability to provide a calming and welcoming conversation. I work hard to build a trusting relationship with patients and their families by implementing a supportive and collaborative environment.
Ideal clients
As a PMHNP, I am equipped to work with clients of all ages but my ideal clients are children, adolescents, and young adults who need medication management with supportive therapy. I enjoy working with clients from any background/culture. I have a very therapeutic and easy going approach to treatment and will work with to come up with a treatment plan for your unique situation.
Treatment methods
Supportive
Supportive therapy is a practical, present-focused form of talk therapy aimed at reducing symptom distress, building self-esteem, and strengthening existing coping mechanisms. Instead of uncovering deep, unconscious conflicts, it relies on empathy, validation, and collaboration to help individuals navigate daily stressors and maintain stability.
