My name is Layne Stambaugh and I am a Board Certified- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of adults and children struggling with acute and chronic conditions, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorders and Schizophrenia. I operate an independent virtual practice called Braintique. I focus on patient-centered care and optimizing medication, my goal in treatment is to use the fewest medications at the lowest doses possible to robustly support mood and wellness. My goal is to cultivate a deep and personalized understanding of each patient which is often missed in larger scale clinics. Seeking help with mental health is a challenge, and I strive to make it an easy process for my patients. Virtual appointments can be conveniently made via our online scheduling system with open availability for evening and weekend hours.
During our first appointment, a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation will be completed. Its purpose is to formulate working psychiatric diagnoses. A psychiatric evaluation is essential to help identify the disorder and helps ensure that you get the best treatment for your condition. A fundamental part of the interview is to foster a healthy relationship and secure attachment between me and patient. I use this as an opportunity to learn something about your personality as well. This attachment allows for open communication, enabling the collection of accurate information and the correction of any misunderstandings.
I am empathetic and create a non-judgmental environment for my patients. My virtual office is a "safe zone." I provide myself on professionalism and my strong knowledge base- applying evidenced based-practice for the best patient outcomes. Flexibility and accessibility are a priority for me; I recognize that some matters cannot wait. I ensure that each plan of care is individualized with the input of the individual client.
I am currently accepting children and adults struggling with acute and chronic issues, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorders and Schizophrenia.
