I'm a licensed clinical social worker whose work has focused on the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, childhood sexual/physical abuse and trauma/PTSD for children, adolescents, young adults and adults. I also have experience teaching parenting skills and strengthening communication skills with loved ones. I'm client-centered and solution-focused in my approach. I start where you are and demonstrate compassion and curiosity as we collaboratively work together towards your goals. Being fully present with you and demonstrating your worthiness of love and care is my pledge every session. I will provide a safe, welcoming space in which you are free to be open and never fear judgement. I will weave vulnerability, humor, warmth, honesty, and insight into our work together. You know yourself and what you need best. Therefore, I welcome honest feedback and will regularly foster open conversations about the effectiveness of therapy. I am a strong advocate of social justice and equity, especially within my therapy space. I'm mindful of the systems in place that maintain the status quo of disparity in power and the oppression of many. These systems will be discussed openly and frankly, especially if they are playing a significant role in your life. I look forward to walking side-by-side with you on a journey of self-exploration that leads to much healing and growth.
You will walk away from sessions having felt seen, heard and understood. You will be able to process your thoughts and feelings about the things that have been swirling in your mind and weighing on your heart. You will feel equipped with the effective tools needed to tackle the next stressor or decision in your life with greater confidence and peace of mind.
I work from a trauma-informed perspective, and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy. I have a deep toolbox of body relaxation skills and cognitive restructuring skills that will enable you to feel more grounded and present in your body, while also enabling you to see yourself and the world with more clarity, patience and love.
I specialize working with those individuals who have experienced childhood trauma (sexual, emotional or physical abuse and/or neglect). Using a trauma-informed lens, I empower others to reclaim the power of their life's narrative.
