New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my MSW from George Mason University and have extensive experience working with adults, families and youth in the Washington D.C. area, Arizona and Oregon. In recent years, I have focused on adults experiencing life changes such as empty nesting, divorce, career changes, retirement, caring for a family member, loss/grief, and supporting professionals in the social work profession. I am a RYT 200-hour yoga teacher and like to incorporate yoga principles and practices in sessions. My approach is to provide a safe space for individuals to process their feelings, own what is theirs, and release limiting beliefs about themselves. It is my belief that everyone has the answers within themselves and the role of therapy is to support individuals on their own unique journey. It is equally as important for a therapist to have a strong commitment to their own growth in order to show up and be present for others.
Our first session is the initial assessment where we explore what your goals are and gather information from your history to better provide me with how I can best support you.
I am a therapist that incorporates somatic therapy, mindfulness practices as well as nature-based interventions in our sessions together. In sessions, we explore both talk therapy as well as body-based approaches in your healing journey.
My ideal client is someone who is working on ways to manage anxiety and life's transitions (career, divorce, empty nest, caregiving, professionals in the healing profession). The ideal client is willing try new techniques and explore ways in which they have been held back from pursuing their goals. Some of client goals to include: grounding oneself, challenging old narratives and willing to take on new approaches to address concerns.
