Congratulations...please take a moment to give yourself a pat on the back, You have just taken the first, very courageous step towards a "better you". Seeking professional help is not always easy, but you did it! My name is LaTrenia Moore. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina. I am a National Certified Counselor. I have been providing therapy/counseling for the last 4 years. I completed my Masters of Arts in Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2016. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Education . I am a former teacher with 15 years of experience at the elementary and middle school level. My degree in education has assisted me in providing therapy to families and children who may be experiencing parenting and academic issues with their child/children. I have worked with multiple populations to include, but not limited to children and teens, as well as both the civilian and military adult populations. I have a background of providing therapeutic services to individuals who may be struggling with trauma , depression, anxiety, stress, racial discrimination, as well as marital, family and children issues. As a therapist I pride myself in being very empathetic, mindful and client centered, yet direct and straight forward. As we work together you will find that I believe in establishing a good rapport with my clients, as well as ensuring that you are provided with a safe, non-judgemental space to be vulnerable, as we work together to help you attain the goals you have set for yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At the conclusion of each of your sessions with me it is my hope and belief that you will be able to better understand your thoughts and emotions and to learn healthier ways to manage the everyday stressors of life. It is my goal to provide you with the necessary tools to put in your "tool box" to help you to not only cope with the stressors of life, but to also assist you in making positive changes in your behavior and thinking and to use these tools daily .

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I incorporate evidence based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I view the therapy alliance as a partnership in which mutual respect, honesty, communication and a commitment to "do the work" as necessary components to the therapeutic process. I also incorporate homework during our sessions as a means of continuing the therapy session until the client and I meet again for his/her next session. Whatever your issues or goals may be, I am here to support and empower you. "Come, let's take a walk together on the path toward healing".

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have thoroughly enjoyed providing therapy to children , teens and adults both in the civilian and military sectors. My background as an educator and military spouse has provided me with the opportunity to work with a vast amount of individuals from different ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds. Incorporating Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness are just a few of the treatment methods I incorporate in the therapy session to help clients who are presenting with issues such as anxiety, trauma, depression and PTSD.
