New to Grow
Hello! My name is McKenzie Thomas and I am a licensed therapist with over six years of experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I work with adults and adolescents, particularly those who are navigating the challenges of life transitions, identity, and mental health struggles. As a mixed-race therapist, I bring an understanding of cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for the unique experiences of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
I use a collaborative, person-centered approach in my work, which means I see you as the expert of your own life. My ultimate hope is to help you navigate confusion or overwhelming emotions and provide support as we work together to find increased mental clarity and direction. My approach integrates a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My approach is direct and I firmly believe in building a connection as we progress in therapy as I understand that it can be strange to open up to a new person. I will meet you where you are while also working together to get you on the path to where you would like to go as we address barriers that have been getting in the way.
