New to Grow
We all experience speed bumps during our life journey. Though it may seem we are "lost, “I believe the powers we are looking for are inside us. One simply needs to be heard, welcome in a safe place, validated and strengthen the emotional "muscles" that have grown weak--just as we exercise our bodies and our minds, we must exercise our emotional and Spiritual parts. I truly believe we cannot experience long term health unless we pay close attention to our Mind, Body and Spirit--the WHOLE SELF. When we honor our truths, we will achieve our Authentic Self! I look forward to walking with you on this indescribable journey to Transformation. May I offer a friendly reminder beautiful; NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF YOU
Aloha Dear Ones, I understand counseling is a very personal and precious journey. The courage it takes just to reach out for support let alone attend sessions is the most incredible gift you can give yourself. It's imperative to me that you feel emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually safe. In fact, from my Spirit to yours, if I am not the right "fit" for you, no matter the reason, I will NOT help you SETTLE. It's not about me--ever. Whether you've had therapy before or this is your first time, the courage you utilize is too priceless to settle for anything less than what feels right. Your first therapy session is primarily about building a connection, getting to know you and allowing you to describe what you feel and need. It's a time to ask questions, allow me to introduce myself; background, therapeutic approaches, review HIPPA, Confidentiality, Telehealth, histories, etc. The truth is, the first 2-3 sessions are about you and I sitting together and talking about real life without judgment but passion, praise, and peace. My goal is to assist you in feeling heard and seen just as you are. I welcome your questions about me--at anytime. I don't want nor believe Therapy should always be serious and hard. We can have fun exploring and turning towards the gifts of Curiosity and Humor in order to find your Empowerment and Long Term Enlightenment. I am no different than you--just because I have a few initials next to my name means nothing. I am not above you. I thank, applaud, and look forward to meeting you. Overview of the First Session Your first session typically lasts 40–60 minutes and is designed to help you and your therapist get to know each other, establish trust, and set the foundation for future sessions
For as long as I can remember I knew I was adopted. I longed for my birth parents. I was sure I had ruined their lives by being born and prayed I could get a chance to apologize to them. Due to trauma in my own home, I was taken out of the home and placed in foster-care for a brief time. It all happened at school when CPS came to get me. I remember my School Counselor crying and apologizing to me because she didn't know what to do. I held her and told her everything was fine and that I knew she wasn't trained for things like this. While in Foster Care I felt a warmth come over me as my purpose. I knew I wanted to be a Therapist bringing Mental Health to the Schools and then having an Integrative Healing and Trauma Recovery Center; Gracie's Place one day. I wanted everyone to feel as loved and cared for the way I did any time someone called me by my real name Gracie. I knew at the age of 13 I wanted to dedicate my life to whole self-healing. I am a firm believer in treating the whole self; Mind, Body, and Spirit. Thus, I am a Holistic Health Practitioner, Personal Trainer, and Talk Therapist. I believe in your true Voice! I can't wait to hear it!
My specialties include Eating Disorders, Addictions, Trauma/PTSD, Body Dysphoric/Image, Nutrition, Fitness, Holistic Health especially ages tween to elder adult, willingness to treat whole self vs 1 or 2 parts, and motivated to take their power back through gaining self-awareness vs blaming others or shaming self. Their treatment plans would include Mind, Body, and Spirit focus. I would assist them through gaining knowledge--Psychoeducation; Identifying strengths, weaknesses, choices, replacing poor coping with whole self-healthier living, nutritional and wellness plans, and clearly stated steps and behaviors appropriate for the individual's needs.
I identify as
Eclectic
I don't believe in "one size fits all" for the Therapeutic Practice. Thus, I utilize an Eclectic type approach wherein I listen to what is being said as well as what isn't. I believe in walking "with" the client assuring Empowerment and Validation from the inside out. I listen to passions, experiences, histories, internal dialogues, past Therapeutic experiences, Nutritional and Wellness practices and invite them to be a full participant in developing and working their treatment plan. I treat the Mind, Body and Spirit in order to better solidify self awareness and success. Having said that, I turn towards the following approaches often; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma informed, Motivational Interviewing, Nutrition/Wellness, Client Centered, Solution Focused, Exposure, Psychodrama, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Humanistic, Rogerian, Narrative, Relaxation/Meditation/Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and Gestalt Therapy. I believe utilizing a personally based treatment plan placing focus on the Whole self is beneficial for both short and long term goals.
