About me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW) based in Georgia. I received my Masters from the University of South Carolina and have over 10 years of professional work experience. My experience as a Behavioral Coach, Therapist, and Medical Social Worker in the healthcare profession enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized and psychological care. I have experience in helping clients from various backgrounds cope with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, motivation and life changes.  My focus is to support and empower you as you manage to deal with life stressors and challenges. Everyone's healing journey is unique. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life. I am here to guide you through life's most complex and difficult matters.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental space where we begin to build a trusting relationship. I’ll ask some questions to get a sense of what brought you to therapy, your background, and what you’re hoping to achieve. This session is largely about gathering information, so I can better understand your needs and goals. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about the therapy process and for us to discuss how we might work together. We won’t dive deep into the issues right away, but by the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer idea of what to expect moving forward, and we’ll begin outlining a plan to help you meet your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I excel at creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood and valued. My empathy allows me to connect deeply with clients and validate their feelings. I am a skilled active listener, which helps clients feel heard and encourages them to express themselves openly. I prioritize building strong therapeutic relationships, which I believe is fundamental. I adapt my therapeutic techniques and utilize evidence-based practices based on the client’s needs and progress, ensuring that our work together is always relevant and effective. I help clients develop practical strategies for overcoming challenges, empowering them to achieve their goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with clients across a broad age range, from teens to older adults. My experience enables me to understand and address the unique challenges that arise at different stages of life. With teens, I focus on issues like identity formation, emotional regulation, and peer relationships, while for young adults, I provide support with life transitions, career development, and building independence. For middle-aged clients, I help navigate family dynamics, work-related stress, and significant life changes, and for older adults, I offer guidance in coping with aging, loss, and finding new purpose. My approach is adaptable and tailored to meet the developmental and emotional needs of each individual, regardless of their age.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. By examining these thoughts, clients can learn how they influence feelings and behaviors. Through exercises in session as well as homework exercise outside of sessions, clients are helped to develop coping skills to learn how to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behaviors. This includes techniques such as relaxation exercises, mindfulness and problem solving skills that can be used in real world situations. Clients learn to identify and challenge negative thoughts and replace them with more realistic and positive thoughts. Goal-setting is crucial in CBT because it provides a clear roadmap for both the therapist and the individual. By setting specific, achievable goals, it helps individuals focus on what they want to change, track their progress, and stay motivated throughout the treatment. It also makes it easier to measure success and make necessary adjustments along the way.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

As a provider, I use ACT to help individuals accept difficult emotions and thoughts rather than fighting them. It encourages people to commit to actions aligned with their values, even in the face of discomfort or distress. The goal isn’t to eliminate negative thoughts or feelings but to change the relationship with them, allowing more psychological flexibility. In practice, ACT is used to guide clients through mindfulness exercises and teach acceptance skills. These help individuals become more aware of their thoughts and feelings without judgment. Personal values are explored to help clients clarify what truly matters to them.

My first therapy session went really well. I was able to open up about everything happening with my mother and the complex family dynamics. I’m looking forward to continuing these sessions to explore even deeper ways to release the guilt I carry from the decisions I’ve had to make, and to work toward a greater understanding of my own purpose in life as I move through this healing journey.
