Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with 9 years of experience assessing and treating mental health concerns. My background is in community mental health, which means I have a wide-range of knowledge and experience with many demographics and conditions. As a mental health counselor, my passion lies in providing compassionate and effective support to individuals navigating the challenges in life. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences without judgment. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and collaboration. This allows me to tailor your sessions to meet your unique individual needs. Through evidence-based practices and a holistic perspective, I strive to empower you to cultivate resilience, develop coping strategies, and walk with you through your journey to insight and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session takes the most amount of courage. But once you’ve taken that step, therapy is the most powerful tool to promote personal growth and positive change. I facilitate this through fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and respect; and am committed to guiding your path to wellness. The first appointment is information collecting. You’ve known you for your entire life and I’m just meeting you for the first time! I need a few sessions for you to help me see your world as you see it. I’ll ask a lot of questions our first few sessions, and after that, you steer our sessions! Whether it’s home life, work stress, or any of the millions of other things in your life… we can talk about it all!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I do my very best to meet you where you’re at. I take pride in trying my hardest to see life through your lense, with your traumas, and your triumphs, and gain a true understanding of what you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing every day. I provide warmth, empathy and and occasional sense of humor, and work to lead you to gaining insight and fostering change.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My therapy style is eclectic, meaning I adapt my theoretical framework to your specific needs and pull from many techniques.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT as a tool in our sessions to help you process your thoughts and emotions, and use this information to gain insight into past behaviors as well as drive future changes.

Trauma-Focused CBT

A “deep dive” into traumatic experiences and their impact on you as a person, how you make decisions and how the experiences have shaped you, while working toward altering responses to triggers.
