Hi there, I'm Ola. Do you feel pulled, stressed, and hopeless, unable to find balance and healthy skills? Are you struggling to maintain your relationships, work, and mental health? Is it hard to show yourself compassion? I help diverse individuals manage life stressors and avoid burnout. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a holistic and individualized approach to address the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also integrate relaxation techniques to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, self-esteem issues, cycles of anxiety, depression, or other mental health needs, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the barriers and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction to get to know each other. I will discuss treatment protocols and expectations. We will proceed to the assessment questions that will provide insight into specific challenges and the reason for seeking therapy. I will also assess for risk. I love to call our first session together a "chit chat" session that lays the foundation for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are my ability to build rapport with individuals using empathy, active listening, and unconditional positive regard. Also I am very skilled and competent with my clinical skills. I assist with processing trauma to foster healing in a non-judgmental space. I enjoy supporting clients in various stages of life events and crises while providing coping skills. As an individual who has experienced the need for support, I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for you to be yourself and express your feelings truly. Every problem has a solution. Hence I am big on problem-solving and start where you are to ensure success in our work together. A very evident strength I possess is that I am patient and naturally kind; hence, providing support comes naturally.

My treatment methods

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I have had successful stories with my experience as an OCD specialist with the use of ERP. Exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy is the gold standard form of treatment for OCD. With my guidance, we will create an exposure hierarchy to gradually expose you to your fear, which leads to anxiety coasting down and the thoughts becoming less distressing. With ERP therapy you can gradually reduce anxieties and stop the problematic cycle of OCD.

EMDR

As an EMDR-trained clinician, I use EMDR to focus on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors that result from a distressing experience (trauma). This allows your brain to resume a natural healing process. During EMDR, you will access memories of a trauma event in very specific ways. Combined with eye movements and guided instructions, accessing those memories helps you reprocess what you remember from the negative event. I use EMDR to target a variety of mental health symptoms, such as Depression, anxiety, trauma and more. That reprocessing helps “repair” the mental injury from that memory. Remembering what happened to you will no longer feel like reliving it, and the related feelings will be much more manageable.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have substantial experience with CBT. During sessions, I use CBT to assist you with identifying cognitive distortions that contributes to mental health symptoms and behavior's while teaching you skills to reframing these negative cognitions that leads to maladaptive thinking and behavior's.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a clinician, Cultural sensitivity allows me to gain and maintain cultural competence. I am self-aware of my own culture and how it influences my relationship with you, which helps me with understanding and responding to you in a culturally sensitive way to make you feel understood , which often contributes to a stronger therapeutic alliance.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As a person centered clinician, my role is to provide a non-judgmental environment for you to freely talk about your feelings and emotions. I attempt to increase your self-understanding by reflecting and carefully clarifying questions without offering advice. I function under the assumption that you know yourself best; thus, viable solutions can only come from you. I engage in active listening, paying careful attention to your feelings and thoughts. I will convey an accurate understanding of psychosocial world throughout the therapy session as if it is my own, express accurate empathy, create a warm environment to make you feel accepted unconditionally.
