When I entered college, I had one career path in mind. Then I took an introduction to social work class and my life changed for the better. I have a passion for helping others and guiding them to better feelings in life. Helping others brings joy to my life. I hope that when you enter our therapeutic space you feel safe and heard throughout your session. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from Florida State University and obtained my Master in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have been in the field of social work since 2013 and have been a therapist since 2017. I cannot wait to work with my community and hope that I can assist in making a positive change. I specialize in the following areas: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Gender Affirming Care, LGBTQIA+ Concerns, Family Issues, Work Related Issues, Stress, and Women's Issues. The ages of population I serve are adolescents and adults. Additionally, I am a mother of one and a lover of all things Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel. I try to be as down-to-earth and relatable as possible. My goal is to ensure that everyone feels respected also and that humanity in therapy is not absent.
The first session will include gathering some background information in order to determine what your needs and concerns are. We will discuss how therapy could be helpful and also discuss how I normally frame the therapy sessions, but will also discuss what you need in therapy.
I truly try to ensure that this is a safe space for you. No matter what your concerns are. I honor the humanity in our sessions. I tend to utilize CBT, MI, and DBT the most in sessions but can be flexible to your concerns and needs.
I normally see folks that are in the following category: Adolescents Adults LGBTQIA+ People of Color
This is one of the primary methods of therapy I utilize. I like to educate clients about how this is beneficial too.
A skills based form of therapy and it will be helpful to most folks I serve!
